  • does H1-B requires current employment certificate

I have my H1-B visa interview scheduled for next week. I am going to a new company in US, but for the visa interview do i need to take an employment certificate from the current company?

If i need a certificate, will a scanned copy be enough?

Yes, appointment letter or the latest employment verification letter is required. Try to get the original rather than a scanned copy which will ad more value.

What about the offer-letter? Do i need an original of that too?

I have only a scanned copy of that, since i-797 has the sponsoring company I thought I don't require the original. Do i need to have an original offer letter too? Will fax be enough ?

Either get a latest offer letter from the employer in their letterhead (original) or at least get an employment verification letter. You can go with photocopies. But it is advisable to carry the originals. Depending on the VO, a photocopy can be accepted or a 221g can be issued for the original. It is not worth to take any chances with the visa interview.
