  • Effect of B1 rejection on H1B stamping interview

    Hi,

My H1B petition is approved and I am waiting for H1B stamping. My B1 visa was rejected in Oct 2010 under 214(b). Here is interview details in brief

VO: Why u r travelling to US?
Me: To attend technical discussion on YYYY technology.
    VO: Duration of stay?
    Me: 7 weeks.
    VO: Why 7 weeks required?
    Me: This discussion includes .......
...after few more questions such as where will be going and then...
VO: Will you be on the job training?
    Me: No

And I was handed over a 214(b) letter. Now my question is what sort of question may I be asked during H1B stamping interview? If I was asked about rejection reason what should I say?

    Regards,
    Ram babu

B1 rejection will not have any impact on H1B stamping. They will not ask you about the B1 rejection as they will know exactly why it was rejected at the first place. If asked, explain them that you don't actually know why it was rejected.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
