H-1 extension beyond 6 years

Hi Experts,

My H-1 visa is set to complete 6 years in August 2013. My employer hasn't yet filed for my Green Card and I am not sure that my GC will be initiated. I, myself, want to move back to India in a couple of years so not very interested in GC. But cannot move back next year due to some personal reasons. I wanted to check if there is a possibility of extending my H-1 visa by an year beyond sixth year, if my GC is not initiated? Please help!
