H1 B Visa Receipt Number

I work for an IT compnay in India. My H1B visa was filed by my employer's US Office on 8th June 2012 and initially in their mail, it was informed that I will get my receipt number within 30 days. I have still not got it yet. On following up, they had referred to an USCIS release saying that receipt generation will get delayed by 2-4 weeks and this is a temporary situation - this was released in May.
Can you kindly share if you know of anyone who still haven't got his receipt yet, and since my employer is saying that petition has been filed, should I in any case get a receipt number at sometime or the other?

If USCIS accepts your petition, then they will generate a receipt notice and will mail it to the employer/lawyer. Check with the employer to see if the checks sent for the H1B filing fee are encashed. If yes, then USCIS has accepted your application and have cashed the checks. If not, then your employer will need to follow up with USCIS.
