H1 to L1

Hi,
1 yr left over in the H1.Can I apply for L1? If yes, will I get L1 for 1yr(remaining duration in H1) or 5 yrs?

Are you entering your 6th Year on H1 in US ? If yes, I dont see how you will be eligible for L1 as for L1 one has to be working for the foreign subsidiary of your employer, outside US for at least 1 Year in last 3 Years. This is my opinion not legal advice.
