My current employer is ready to file GC on my expense. I have 24 months contract with them still 18 months remaining.

    1. If I file GC with them I can take transfer after 18 months?
    2. Do I have to start all process from step 1 or new employer can takeover?
    3. I checked online & current date for EB2 is May 2007 so if I file within 6 months I can file I-485 around 2017-2018. Do I have to stay with current employer till 2017-2018?

    Thanks

If you have your Labor and I-140 approved and it has been 180 days since your I-140 is approved. If you change your job, then your new employer have to apply for new labor and I-140 but you can use your old priority date. This is if you have not filed I-485 with your old employer. If you have filed I-485 with your old employer and it is pending for more than 180 days then you can use AC21 portability.

    1. Yes
    2. New employer have to apply for new labor and I-140 but you can use your old priority date.
    3. No
