Visiting India on visa stamped for previous company?

I currently have a valid H1B visa stamp from my previous job which is valid till 25th Oct 2012 (my actual old visa is valid till oct 2013 but they only stamped for 2 years). I got a new job in September and have applied for a H1b transfer. I am hoping that I will get my visa approval by end of september (premium processing).

My question is that after my visa is approved, can I visit and come back from India before 25th OCt and without needing a visa stamping?

Is it safe to travel on visa stamped for my previous company? I really want to visit India without having to go through stamping process anytime soon since its a new job.
Please advise.

Yes, it is possible. But you must have approval notice for the new company in hand.

Thanks for your reply. My visa approval process took a little longer due to a client letter issue.
I have dropped my plans of travelling on my old company's visa stamp. Instead will travel on the new visa in december and get it stamped. I am considering going to canada for stamping not sure if there are any pros/cons in doing that.
