lost my cancelled passport urgent help plese

I got my new passport on March 28, 2012 due to change in my permanent address and old passport has been cancelled which doesn't have any visa stamped. I was advised to keep the old one with the new passport but lost my old passport as it was not stapled with the new one..In between just wanted to know whether i need to file any complaint or do i need to fill any forms regarding this as I have Visa Interview on September 18th 2012

File a police complaint. Generally all passports are stapled together, since you didnt and lost it, you will need to file a complaint. Get the affidavit and keep it until you hear from them. If you have copy of your old passport, take it to the interview along with the affidavit from police station.
