Urgent : Please Help : H1B Transfer in PP Mode

Hello All,

I am in the process of H1B transfer and my LCA has been approved by USCIS. My new employer have submitted all the required documents to process my H1 transfer in PP mode. It has been more than 8 days and Have not received Receipt number yet.

Is anyone else facing the same issue like me or Is this normal? Can anyone please direct me on this to proceed further?

That is a bit worrying because USCIS has 15 days to decide your case if its PP and 15 days includes sat and sun.
Are you sure your employer has submitted the petition? It takes 2-3 days to get the receipt notice for PP.
I dont know how you can check because you dont have a petition number either. You can call USCIS if its of any help and check how the employer sent the docs (maybe there is some tracking number)

My employer has just sent the receipt number and it has been submitted to Vermont service center with the submit date as 27th Sep 2012.

However My employer has confirmed that they hAve sent the petition on 18th sep 2012 and not sure why this delay to accept my petition.

I would like to add to my previous statement that the 15 day period starts from the day USCIS receives your petition at their office. In your case you can expect a decision in the next 15 days since you just received the receipt number.
Go track your case at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do
You can also subscribe to sms alerts by signing up there. This way you know if your status changes anytime.

I went thru the same thing a few days ago...my application was received on the 24th of Sept and I got the approval notice on the 25th...you should be hearing from them soon, also ask your employer to keep and eye on the email address mentioned in the petition...sometimes the online system is not updated for a couple of days...mine changed only on the 28th.

Somtimes there can be delay in updating the database. In my case it went from acceptance to initial review and back to acceptance. Whatever the case, if its PP, you will get a result in 15 days from the date of acceptance.

I am still waiting to receive my hard copy but just want to know whether would I get three years validity for my new approved petition or would I get only 1 year (My old petition expires on Feb 14, 2014).

Urgent : H1B transfer and Port of Entry

Hello All,

My H1B transfer has been done and got all my related documents. Will be traveling to US (first time ever) on Feb 10th.
My passport has old employer name
however got my new employer H1 approved petition, LCA and all other required documents.
Would like to know the challenges that I would face at the port of entry and please let me know If I should have any other documents for peaceful entry???
