H1B visa case status will change or not

Hi,

I got my visa till Dec 2013, I have problem with my employer on Oct 2011. So I quit the company and came to home town. Is there a way to check my visa status is alive or not.
Its almost 1 year gap. If it is valid mean can I transfer my visa to another employer?

If the visa got cancel mean then, the status in the egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do will be change?

Any idea please help

There is no such thing as Visa status alive. Another employer can always file a cap-exempt petition (transfer) for you.
