Hello,
I have a typical situation and would like to describe it first.
I am currently working on F-1 OPT status and have my H1 B visa approved starting from October 1st 2012.
In December I have a trip to India with two purpose, firstly Marriage and Secondly, H1B stamping for me and dependent visa (H4) stamping for my fiance.
I hail from 'Jamshedpur' and my fiance hails from 'Lucknow', as per my knowledge I am free to have my Visa stamping anywhere in the country but the same doesn't apply to my fiance.
We are getting married on Dec 8th (in Indore) and expected to book a visa date in between Dec 10th to Dec 15th.
Also we both would be attending visa interview together, my fiance has never been to US before and has not applied for H4 dependent visa earlier.
Thus, we have the following questions that we currently seek answers.
1) Can we go for Visa stamping in Kolkata, regardless 'Lucknow' falls is in Delhi region (its the place where my fiance is staying currently) ?
2) Also the website doesn't allow to seek through available visa appointments, can you provide me the necessary links where I can schedule my appointment.
3) There seems to be transition in the VFS website and when going through the options it does tell something about 'Bio-metrics', if that's related to our visa can you elaborate about it.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
