  • Telemedicine Work in USA

One of my friend who completed his fellowship in the US and is now living overseas due to his parents. He has an active medical license but does not have
a green card yet. From an immigration/visa perspective, can he practice telemedicine in US while living overseas without requiring any visa or green card ?

As per current US laws and regulations, in order to practice telemedicine in the US, you must be licensed in the state where your patients are located, regardless of whether you are physically located within the US or overseas. Additionally, practicing telemedicine in the US, even if you are physically located overseas, may still require you to have a valid visa or work permit, depending on your immigration status.

While the specifics of telemedicine regulations and immigration requirements can vary by state and individual circumstances, generally speaking, practicing medicine in the US without a valid visa or work permit would be considered illegal and can result in serious consequences, including legal penalties and potential deportation.

It's important to consult with legal and immigration professionals to ensure that you are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations if you are considering practicing telemedicine in the US while living overseas. They can provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate information based on your individual situation.
