I have a friend who just married a woman from the Philippines. He met her through her aunt who happens to be his coworker. She came here on a tourist visa. I was suspicious of the relationship because one day she just pops up. I asked my friend how long he knew her and he said a few weeks. So I did a little digging and found out she has two marriage licenses with my friend and another man. The other man apparently didn't marry her. I suspect he didn't want to go through a sham marriage. My friend says he loves his wife and vice versa. I suspect his wife just married him for a GC. I'm wondering if having two marriage licenses is enough to trigger a fraud investigation? Has anyone heard of this happening? I don't want my friend to get burned. He's blinded by love and she's motivated by a GC.

Two marriage licenses - fraud investigation?

Hmmm. Having a marriage license with many people does not mean much as she came here on a visitor visa but not a K visa. The 30/60 day rule will cause problems if she tries to adjust status entering on a B1/B2 visa.
