  • Port of Entry - Non English speaking dependent

    Hello,

My wife is coming US on L2 visa. She cant speak English. Now here in this case what is the process for answering question of immigration officer at port of entry counter? Do they have any translator? Is there something i have to request in advance for arranging translator?
I am sure there will be many non-english speaking person coming to US. How they get through the immigration counter?

    Appreciate any kind of help.

    Thanks
    Bhavesh.

There is no service for translator that can be requested in advance. She can either take the help of a co-passenger.

On the other hand, you can write a short and to the point letter providing the necessary information the IO will be looking for. Don't write a big story. Be to the point.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
