W4 exemptions question

Hi,
I recently got married and my wife works here in the US. I am in the process of changing my W4 exemptions and had one question

This is the W4 form - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf

Now my Wife and I work in the US for different companies, can each of us put a 1 for the following?
A Enter “1” for yourself if no one else can claim you as a dependent

We dont qualify for any other exemption so currently both of us have a 1 on our W4's which is got from A

We plan on filing jointly next year.

If both of you are working, you should claim only 1 allowance. If you claim 2, you may have to pay when you file your return.
