  • Imp! : L2 to L1 visa conversion process

I am working for an organization for last 2 years and my organization has applied for my L1 visa.

Currently i am in the US with my husband on L2 dependent visa and i am on loss of pay. I had a few queries.

    1. Will my stay in US affect my L1 visa processing. Are there any chances of denial.
    2. Do i need to travel back to my country after the petition is approved.
    3. Does location matter when i am staying in US as it is different from my client location.

    1. Will my stay in US affect my L1 visa processing. Are there any chances of denial. --No, it makes no difference as long as you are eligible for the L1 petition (worked for the company for 1 year in the previous 3 years)
    2. Do i need to travel back to my country after the petition is approved. --Depends on whether it is filed with or without change of status.
    3. Does location matter when i am staying in US as it is different from my client location. --Once in L1 status you will have to work at your specified work location.
    See above.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
