I94 Expiring soon

Dear All,
my l1b visa & i94 are getting expired soon (same date), If i go to Jamaica or Mexico, Is there a chance to get extended i94 ?

I have been here just over 24mo.

I live in Ohio, so only option for me is to fly. Can i fly and return the same day? I heard, with valid US visa i could go without any other paper work...is that right?
