  • L1B Visa short term(2-3weeks) visit consequences

I have a L1B Blanket Visa valid for next two years. But due to some reasons the project for which i was suppose to travel for a long term(2yrs) to U.S. was cancelled. Now my company is placing me in another project for which i may have to travel for a short duration of 2-3weeks to U.S.. As it is a urgent requirement from the client, i may have to travel with in a week's time and there is no time for processing B1 visa. So the company wants me to travel on L1 visa for a short term(2-3weeks) for which they will pay me in U.S. as per U.S. salary norms (not on per diem basis) for this duration(2-3weeks).
Will this affect my future visa processing - renewal of L1 or applying for B1/H1 ? (as it is a very short term visit on L1)

    Hello, BP.

My personal opinion, i am not a professional.

I feel, a short trip, like what you will be having, should not adversely impact your future applications. If anything, a past approval on your record, should only act as a positive. If you act as per the regulation, you are good, always.

What is important at the time of filing a petition is your paperwork (your past approval ofcourse shall only be a positive).

These are my personal thoughts, i am not a professional.

    Wishing you luck.

    Cheers,

That was more of a discussion regarding the non payment of salary but per diem while on L1 for 2-3 Months.

I think you should be good for travelling for 2-3 Weeks using the L1.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
