  • L1B Extension - in RFE Response Review status for more than 9 weeks

    Hi,

My L1B extension petition was filed on 05/20/2013 (along with L2 extension petitions for my spouse and kid) in regular process and received RFE on 08/22/2013. The RFE response was filed back on 09/24/2013 and until today havent heard anything from the USCIS. My 240 days time from the I94 expiry date ends on 01/1

My employer is now suggesting me to convert this to a premium as the Christmas holidays are almost near. But based on the reviews I have read in the various forums I see that the conversion from regular to premium is a high chance for denials.

Any suggestions? I am sure many would have faced a similar case before. Please share any information that you have.. That will really help.
Also- how are the approvals for a L1 extension at this time. In the recent past, I have never ever seen any posts that talks about L1B being 'approved' OMGG

    Thanks!

You should have converted to premium long back and should have responded to the RFE much quicker. Well, you dont have much options remaining now. You cannot work post the 240 Days wait period. I suggest converting to premium.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

My case status was updated to 'Initial Review' the very next day (12/09) after my premium upgrade details were sent to USCIS by my employer.

Today, there was another update in the USCIS website from 'Initial Review' to 'Acceptance' status. Can anyone clarify what is the difference between these two statuses? Does this mean there will be another receipt number for this case as it was converted to premium? Please let me know.

        Thanks!
