  • L2 to L1 change

    Hi,

I need help regarding l2 to l1 blanket.
I am working on properiatry tool in USA on l2 and now company wants to file L1B blanket.

What are the question I will face during interview. Is the VO will ask why I am moving from l2 to l1.

Since I am already working on l2 is this will impact my L1 B visa during interview.

Please help me on this .

Why the company didnt file for your L1 while you were working with them outside US? Nevertheless, if you are eligible then yes you can file. Questions will be similar to what is asked routinely to other L1B visa applicants. Working already on L2 should not impact negatively.

      L2 to L1 change

      Hi Raghvi,

      Thanks for the response.

When I was outside US I didn't get the time to file L1B . So I travelled with my husband on l2 here and continued with my company on L2 now my company Is planning to file l1.

Do out think VO will ask me as how come you are specialized when already in l2.

What can I answer if the question is like that.

Is company applying L2 to L1 as COS or Consular Process? If applied as COS, you would not need to go for interview and if approved you would move to L1 while being in US.

But if it is being applied as consular process then yes, you would need to attend the interview at the consulate. As for questions of specialization, you should be knowing what skillsets/process knowledge that you possess which are unique to your organization and emphasize on those to the officer to prove your specialied knowledge.
