  • L1-B Visa and Green Card getting processed together

    Hi All,

I am an Indian national working for a US based IT company. Its been 4 years since I joined this company and I've been working in it's London office for past 2 years now. My company now wants me to travel to US and for that they are filing L1-B visa for me. Now I got married to an American national in December 2013 and she is due to file a green card application for me as well. My question is if she files a green card application for me and then my company files L1-B petition for me, is it gonna have any impact on these 2 (L1-B & Green card) applications? I mean is it safe to apply for both the petitions together?

    Thanks in advance.

I dont see any issue. L1 Classification is by nature a dual intent status and one can apply green card in any other category (Family Based in your case) even if one is on L1B.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
