  • L1 B to L1A conversion together with L1 B extn !!

    Hi,

I am holding current L1 B which expire on July 14 (i94 as well), but still i can go for extn on my L1 B for 4-5 month.
Am also eligible for L1 B to L1 A conversion .. but am hesitate to do that because if conversion got denied/delay, i may need to move back in end of July.

Could you please suggest what best I should do...

    1. If I apply for L1B to L1A conversion, and if we don’t get any response before July 14, can we stay on conversion application until we get the denied/Approve information ?
    2. or Can we apply below together. ..
    a) L1 B extn for stay till Dec 14
    b) L1 B to L 1 A conversion together to stay in US for 7 years. ??

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

If I am not wrong L1B to L1A has to be applied 6 Months prior to L1B max out.

    1. Typically one can stay till 240 days or till denial , whichever, is earlier.
    2. There is no law barring you from doing so, but I would not suggest filing multiple petitions with USCIS. It will lead to more complications.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
