Resigning on L1

Hi,
I am on L1B visa. I want to quit my job here and return to India. If I travel to India on my last working day, is it legal to be in US for those few hours until I board the flight? Do I need to take B2 visa just for those few hours?

I dont see any issues. No need to try to convert to B2 as long as you leaving on the same day.
