  • L1 planning to travel outside US, while Depends in US

I have L1B visa and my dependents have L2.
I am planning to travel to India for a week alone leaving my dependents in USA.
Will this effect the status of my dependents or their i-94?

I-94 is valid for one entry and exit. As soon as one exits US, the I-94 does not have any meaning.

When is your L1 and their L2 expiring? All hard copies of I-94s have to be submitted at the Port Of Exit upon leaving US. Upon re entry, if visa is valid, they would get a new I-94.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

June 2015? Without actual dates, questions become difficult to answer.

Upon re entry to US, if your passport is expiring more than 3 Years in future, then two things are possible

1.You may get new I-94 for another 3 Years.
            OR
2, You may get I-94 only till June 2015, that is for another 10 Months only.

In case you get I-94 only till June 2015, you would need to apply extension. Your dependents cannot stay beyond June 2015, even if they have I-94 for another 2 Years, unless you get your L1 extension beyond June 2015.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

my concern is that i am traveling outside of US while my dependents are still in USA.
Will there be any obligations on their status during this period?

For a week -10 Days I dont think its an issue, if you are planning to go out for a few Months you have to take them.
