I-797 Origianl copy

My employer didn't give Original copy of I-797 whilie applying L1 A. Niether the immigration officer nor the officer at port of entry asked.

Recently I went for drivers license and the DMV officer enquired about original copy. I came to know from my colleagues that H1B holder get original copy. I have the below queiries:
1. Does L1A visa holder get origianl copy of I-797?
2. Is it possible to get another copy from US Immigration team, if it has not been shared or lost? In that case who has to apply or how to get this?
3. Is the original copy mandatory for applying Green card?

L1 Blanket you may not be given the original copy but you should typically have the original for L1 Individual.
