L1B, L2 Green Card Together?

My partner and I are currently in the US together - she is on L1B. I am a student on F1 status. We are planning to get married.

If I change my status to L2 and my partner goes through the green card process (her employer will start the process soon and is sponsoring), what happens to my L2 status when she gets the GC? Do I need to get on some other status (such as H1B if I'm out of school and working by then) or would I automatically get permanent residency status when she does? Basically, how does it work for L1 and L2 together?

Whats yours and your fiancee's country of Birth? Under what visa category would the GC be filed - EB1/EB2/EB3?
