L1B Blanket Specialized knowledge approved chennai Consulate

All,

I would like to share my experience on L1B Specialized knowledge, that got approved on 29th Dec 2014, at Chennai consulate. I don't want to share OFC experience, as it has been shared by many of you many times in this forum.

I will straight away jump into the interview session,

Me: Hi, how are you?
VO: I'm good...How are you?
Me: I'm doing Pretty good....

Me: Passed on the documents, 3 sets of I 129 S and passport through the window.
VO: How long you have been working for YYYY company?
Me: Answered
VO: Who is your client
Me: ZZZ
VO: How long you will stay in US:
Me: Answered
VO: Explain your Specialization?
Me: I started explaining, after i complete one sentence itself, he started keeping the approved seal in all my documents. I still continued to explain and he was just looking at his monitor on and off listening to me as well.

VO: He said he has approved the VISA and handed over 2 sets of approved I 129 S to me. He didn't ask a single question to my dependent and said he is approving the VISA for my entire family (wife and my son).

All this happened in just 3 to 4 mins and I was really surprised. Though I have attended L1B VISA 3 times prior in a span of 8 years, i was bit nervous due to recent rejection rate and also being from a service based company. But all went well by god's grace.

Many thanks to this forum. I have been reading thorough many of these posts for the past 2 to 3 months and prepared myself. I was greatly relieved now. Thanks all..

Congrats! I maybe going soon but i m in a product company and my husband will be my dependent.
One qs, how did you answer the duration qs? My duration would be like 2 yrs, but i hope my visa would be for 3 yrs atleast.
Also, was your petition blanket petition? Our lawyer said blanket petition is already approved so it should be easy. Fingers crossed!

You can very well say the assignment is for 2 years initially and then will extend based on the project.

Though L1 Blanket is a petition approved for the company to transfer people with specialized skills, in recent time USCIS has been very tough in evaluating the cases and not all cases were approved. If the case is genuine, you have all chances to get an approval.

Need help on L1B blanket

Hi,

My immigration team told me that, i am eligible for L1B blanket. I have 6.5+ years of experience and specialized in integration of my company tool with client's tools and lead system architect certified in Pega which is very rare in market. I have joined this organization one year 7 months back.

So what could be the approval rate in my case? And please suggest few tips while applying and also for interview. Should i ask for L1B individual instead to seek more approval. As i see L1B blanket has more rejection rate than L1B individual.

Please suggest on this. And if you have any prepared question and answers doc please email on [email protected] , i will refer and make my answers.
