  • L1 interview

hello I have an L1A interview scheduled in 2 weeks at consulate

now, I am also applying for L2 for wife & kids

should I take the kids along? does it make any difference to visa officer incase kids are present ?

It doesnt make much sense to take your kids along. On the contrary, consulates asks not to bring kids below 14 years. Many people might say that taking your kid along with you can give you an "emotional advantage" from the visa officer, but that is not the case - I have seen people with wife and kids getting visa refusals.

Also, if you are not used to Chennai heat, its not advisable to take your kid along. Its a long wait on the footpath before you can enter the consulate, and within the consulate as well, there is significant amount of wait time.

If you are not from Chennai, suggestion would be to go and get your visa stamped and then get the dependant visas done from a consulate near/at your base location.

Yep, for Individual petition, you can get it done in Mumbai itself.
