  • DS-160 and L1 Interview

    Hi there,

I have an approved L1 petition; I have started my DS-160 and have also booked the interview. I plan to have my L2 wife attend the interview with me. My Son is only 3 years old and I believe that he doesn't need to show up.

When I booked the interview they only asked for my details.

I assume that if I add the two L2 people to the DS-160 the it will be clear in the interview that the L2 visas are being applied for also?

Is there anything else I need to do to make sure that I get the L1 and L2 visas in the same interview process?

I struggled to find this information and as it is weekend no consulates are open to ask questions to.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Mike,

You need to fill up separate DS-160 for each applicant - in your case, 3 (you, your wife, your kid).

For wife and kid you need to specify dependent/spouse category and provide your petition number, start and expiry dates etc.

Once you submit the 3 DS-160s, you need to book an appointment for visa interview. (www.ustraveldocs.com). It is in this appointment booking that you need to add your wife and kid as co-applicant using their DS-160 confirmation numbers. Once you provide wife's and kid's DS-160 numbers, their details will be extracted automatically, and in the final appointment confirmation page, you will see "Number of applicants" as 3.

If you do not qualify for a visa fee waiver, the web site will automatically calculate a fee of $570 ($190 X 3) and ask you to pay in your local currency equivalent.

    Hope this helps!

And yes, you are right in saying your kid need not attend the visa interview.
