Applied for L1A but got L1 B

Hi all,

I had applied for L1 A but in the form the VO circled 'B'. I'm not sure if it is a mistake or if it was intentional. I didnt check at that time. Checked later (my bad). I'm yet to receive passport so I dont know what would be the final stamping in passport.

Has anyone experience something like this?

Wow, sounds like a mistake on the VO's part. In the petition, you will see numerous references indicating your qualifications as an L1A candidate, and for what type (i.e. EB1). I guess you just have to wait for the passport to find out.

The passport just says Blanket L1 visa. It doesnt say if it is A or B. I checked with my friends. They said 'A' or 'B' category is never mentioned in passport for L1 visa.

So, should I assume that this is L1 B? But the petition says I have applied for L1 A...

That B stands for Blanket, and not L1A or L1B. And your visa doesn't specify subcategory (A or B), it just says L1.
