Help pls!! Apply for GC while on L2-EAD

Hi,

I am currently in US on a L2-EAD (exp in 2018) . My husband is on L1 (exp in 2018). His company has refused to apply for a GC.
Can I apply for Green Card through my employer? If I apply, it will be on EB-3. Say I apply and get the labor approved and I 140. Then what happens when my husband's L1 expires in 2018? Can I keep renewing our visas (L1 and L2) based on the I 140 ?
Has anybody done this before?

Advisable to file H1 in April 2016.

As per current rules only H1 can be extended based on an approved I140. L1 and L2 cannot be extended based on an approved I140.
