  • Delay in EAD

    Hi,
I am on L1 visa and my husband on L2 applied for EAD on March 23rd 2015 (USCIS received the documents and we got approval notice).
Its been more than 90 days and our case is still in case recievd status. We called after 90 days customer care and we got reply fromUSCIS that your case is in line to reviewed by an officer and we will get back in 60 days and sorry for the delay.
    Ours is Nebraska Center.
Anyone know what is we can do to expedite as he as a offer but company cant wait much given no idea on whats happening.

    Thanks

Regs say "shall issue" in 90

Tell your husband to make an Infopass appointment, and take his receipt notice and passport to the field office.

Thanks. Should we take the offer letter also? Does it help. Any idea if there are delays. I thought they have to issue in 90 days

        Infopass

        Hi Pha,
I got a similar response from Nebraska Centre from my wife's L2 EAD which was filed in April 2016.
I wanted to check if you have scheduled a Infopass apppointment and in case you have appeared, has it helped in expediting the case.

Your response will be greatly appreciated.

        Regards

        Rmawks

we had filed it on April 5 and its been 91 days now....we are also in second thoughts if this will work as we might be given the same response in the interview as well.

              Yes...
              Anyone else has similar delays?
Does anyone know if Nebraska is generally having this delay currently?
Since they say they process cases in the received order, then the delay should be generic.
Or such delayed cases are rare? this is quite important to know.

The 'Processing Timelines' page of USCIS still shows 3 months for I765 (although last updated 30th April).

Its a real real painful wait...you kind of just don't know what to do!!!

It will be great if you can update the post whenever your EAD gets through as it will give idea on the existing TAT.

Also, I went through another posting on EAD which stated that it took 140 days for the decision to be finalized, including time taken to respond to RFE, though not clear whether it was Nebraska or somewhere else.

                Thanks
