  • My L1B VISA experience

These questions were asked to me:

Q1: What is your experience with YYYY Company?
Ans: 2 years and 5 months

Q2: What is your highest qualification?
Ans: Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science

Q3: Is the work that you would be doing in US for a client?
Ans: No, I will be working there for the parent company.

Q4: So, are you going to work for an in-house project?
    Ans: Yes.

Q5: What is the work that you are going to work on in US?
Ans: I am going to design & develop a new YYYY propriety product called YYYY ABC which will be primarily responsible for XYZ across ZZZ. This product is very closely tied to YYYY product, which is the product I have been solely developing since its inception. Once the development of this new product, i.e., ABC is complete, I would also be integrating this with ZZZ's legacy product, called YYY.

Q6: Why can’t this work be done from India?
Ans: The development of the new product, YYYY ABC involves interaction with 12 associated teams in US. Time zone differences makes it difficult for me to work with multiple teams simultaneously from India. I would also need to build expertise amongst the US team members during the course of my stay there so that these integrations can continue once I come back.

    More details, please

    Hi Sudipta,

Thanks for these details. What's the current status of your visa now? I assume it was approved during the interview itself. Which embassy did you visit? Is passport tracking system showing when you can collect your passport?
