  • L2 Ead

    Hi,

Can someone help me with below questions -

    1) I have EAD and my husband is on L1b. His visa is getting expired in July 2017. And instead of extension, his company is filling L1A so will the I94 which currently is an online document gets updated for both L1 and L2 with approved petition. As we don't have any travel plan and would need to provide I94 details for EAD extension.

    2) For EAd, one of the document is principal's L1 document. So will the approved L1A petition works instead of L1 stamped visa. As don't have any travel plan and get it stamped.

    Thanks

Are they planning to file it in premium or normal processing?

    1. Online I94 is not updated when one files for extension or COS in US. But your spouse's L1 A approval would come with an I797 which has a detachable I94 at the bottom of it which can be used in lieu of the inline I94. As for extending L2 I94, it has to filed using for I539. For your EAD extension, you would need to provide the receipt number of your spouse's L1A petition as well as your L2 Ext receipt copy.

Basically there are three things to be filed, L1A petition, L2 extension, and EAD extension, all can be applied together or one after the other upon approval, in that order.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
