Virginia usa driving license

Hi,

I am here in herndon va . And i want to apply for driving license of va usa but the issue is that my passport and Indian driving license have different surnames.
I do have indian legal proofs for the name change.
I just wanted to know that will it be a problem to get a driving license here.

Any suggestions/answers will be appreciated.

Best is to call you'r local DMV http://local.dmv.org/virginia/fairfa...-locations.php and ask.

If you've your birth certificate(in English) with same name as on your Indian driving license then you'd be fine.

If you don't have birth certificate(in English) then go with you passport, legal proof of name change, driving license along with other required documents as per http://www.dmv.org/va-virginia/apply-license.php . Hopefully you'd be fine or else DMV will tell you what they'd need.
