Yes, your understanding is correct. However, there are other reasons for ead and L2/L1 expiring together too.
Not everybody gets their L1 petition approved for 3 yrs and so in cases where the approval is for less than 2 yrs, the ead is also approved for similar time period as L1/L2 validity.
Aside, anybody here knows what happened with Yise since she doesn?t seem to be logging in here often?

Applied L2 EAD with L1/L2 extension pending

Hi,
I have applied my L2 EAD (a(18) category) on jan 4,2019 and received a receipt notice on jan 14,2019 which says my "form G-28 was rejected due to improperly filed". The online case status shows the same message too. Did any one of you have seen the same status message? This is EAD renewal application, which is applied based on my spouse extension receipt number along with mine.
Please let me know if any one got their EAD approved even after this status message or do i have to take any action to get this corrected?
Please advise.
