Do we need transit visa in frankfurt when travel from US to india with L1 I797

Im traveling to India in Feb,I have booked tickets on Lufthansa, I'm on L1 visa and its expired on Oct 31. I have I797 Extension till Oct 2019. Do I need to get transit visa in Frankfurt when travel from US to India with L1 797 extension? Please advise.

I have traveled to India multiple times (personal trips) through LHR and FRA with expired US visa and never had issues. However as per our company policy and general advise, it is not recommended to transit through those airports with an invalid US visa. Amsterdam and Brussels are supposed to be better options, if not able to get through Middle East airports. See the link below,

Hello,

I dont think you need any transit visa as you will be only in airport. If you want to get out of airport then you will need one. They will provide you boarding pass for complete through travel from your source to destination which is enough to stay in any transit airport. I traveled through frankfurt few years back without transit visa.

PS: This are just my thoughts as per my exp. I am not a expert. Have a safe travel.
