F1 OPT to L2

Hi All,

My current status is F1 OPT (not working yet, job searching). I want to change status to L2. I have to travel to India in two months and I am wondering if it is best to fill an application and get F2 visa stamp in India to be able come back or apply for change of status (before the travel) while being in the US?

On L2 visa you can apply for EAD & can work, so it is suggested to get the L2 visa, rather staying on F1 OPT - less hassle. L2 visa is easier.
