Hi,
I, my wife and baby appeared for L1B (I am the primary applicant) and L2 visa interview at the US consulate at Chennai today. While my petition was approved and passports were retained by VCO for myself and our baby, my wife's visa was put on administrative processing hold and a blue paper was handed over to her with remarks related to her B1/B2 visa which was unfortunately withdrawn earlier in 2004. The remarks of the VCO stated required submitting details and any documentation related to turnaround from US. Here's a brief of the issue she faced:
In 2004, my wife was employed with a US credit card company and was travelling with a group of colleagues on B1/B2 Visa. At the Detroit point of entry, the entire batch was stopped for each of them were interviewed by immigration officers. The questions asked were basic to her knowledge and the visa's for the entire batch were cancelled/withdrawn. She was handed over a transcript of interview which did not state any reason for withdrawal/cancellation of visa. She did not apply for any category of visa until now.
We have been told to submit form 221g, doucmentation requested above and passport at the visa OFC center in Delhi or any other location.
Here are my questions:
1. My wife retains the transcript of interview that she got at Detroit which has basic questions, however, one of them states if she has read the sworn statement of her then manager and she answered yes. She does not however recall what was stated in that. She was too young and a fresh out of college to understand what was happening.
2. Would just the transcript of the interview and questions asked be sufficient? She clearly recalls not receiving any other documents.
3. How long would the visa processing and decision on my wife's visa take post submission of documents?
3. What is the probability of visa rejection once the transcript is submitted? Mine and our baby's visa is approved and it doesn't make any sense for me to travel without my family.
4. In case if the visa is still rejected post submission, do I have any other options to appeal?
I would truly appreciate your views/opinions and any support that you could extend. Thank you and have a good day!
