  • L2 ead - 2018

    Hello ALL,

I have some questions on L2 EAD. I applied for the EAD on 11th Jan 2018. My case was received and the case number was generated on 16th Jan 2018. Per my knowledge the processing time was 3 months. So after 80 days of application i raised a service request. I was told that my application was under normal processing time which is now upto 7.5 months.

My question is that is there someone who applied for EAD from mid December 2017 till January end 2018 and has received the card or at least the case is approved. I am trying to understand that what is the current date that they are processing as of now. I am currently on LOP from past 3.5 months due to EAD and my office wont be able to hold my position for long. I am really worried.

I have applied in California Processing Center.

Do we have a choice of which service center we can apply at? As per my current location, We sent our application to a lockbox and then it went to California service center.

        L2 ead 2018

I am sure you will get it,unless you get an RFE.

I did apply for L2 EAD nearly a 1 month after you did and the status recently got changed to "New Card Is Being Produced". If everything goes well, I must be getting the card in less than 20days from now.I will write a detail post of my L2 EAD journey with exact timelines.

Give it a couple more weeks and if the status doesn't change you can raise a service request on USCIS website. Usually it takes 60-120 days maximum for L2 EAD. Some might get it in less than a month and few ppl can even get it after 120 days.

Do let me know if you have any more questions.

        All the best.

          Hi Kushal,

Does it the same with any Service Center? I see different timelines for L2 EAD as well with different Service Centers.

Thanks for your reply. But which was your service center. Usually we do not have a choice in the matter. But just wanted to understand. California Service Center seems to be very slow.

Not really. In my research I did not find any where that timelines can vary based on Service Centers.
