  • L1A Individual on Admin Processing - Chennai | VO didn't say "Approved" or "Rejected"

    Hello All,
I have read this forum a lot before all my US VISA stampings, and now that I am in a huge fix, reaching out to you all for your inputs/ suggestions. Here is the background:
I had a valid L1B and came back from the US in Aug. 2016 with my wife. Waited for one year and then my company filed for an L1A Blanket in October in 2017, and my visa got rejected in December 2017 issuing me a 221g.
My company waited for few months and then in July 2018 filed for my L1A Individual under Premium Processing. Received an RFE in 2 weeks. Lawyers sent response in 8 weeks and L1A Individual petition got approved in October last week. Interview got scheduled again for Chennai consulate for today (26-11-2018). Interview exp.:
    VO: Good Morning
    Me: Responded

VO: May I have your Passports and 797
Me: Yes please and handed over both

VO: Where is the client from
    Me: Answered

VO: How long have you been working with this client
    Me: 6 months

VO: How much is your salary in the US
    Me: gave the details

VO to my wife: How long have you been married:
    Wife: 5.5 years

VO to my wife: No kids?
Wife: No (and i said "not for another couple of years)

Then the VO just got down from her seat and stepped away saying "I'll just be back in a minute". Came back and started to type something and then pulled a blue sheet, ticked on the "Admin Processing" pointer, and then told us "We need to verify certain more details, You need not come back here again nor do you need to submit any more documents, we shall get back to you in 5 days, this is going under admin processing Thank You".
She didn't return our passports. She didn't say "Rejected" or "Approved".
Then we came back to the hotel and since then have been checking our VISA status at www.ceac.state.gov and it says "Admin Processing".

Now I am in a huge fix and in a state of tension since the work Onsite has already started and my role was pretty key there.

Here are my points of major curiosity and concern, and really looking forward to your tips and suggestions:

    1. The petition was approved, VO looked pretty convinced with my answers, what can be the reason for further research?
    2. I have handed over a new passport, my past travel details (as mentioned in the petition) are in my other passports, can this be a reason?
    3. My L1A Blanket which was rejected in a span of just one year (Dec 2017)?
    4. My wife said "No kids" can that also be a reason, considering the issue going on and they can assume to any level?
    5. Our passports have been taken by the VO. Is there still any scope? She didn't say "Approved" nor "Rejected" ???

    Thank You

probably just need to get some more background check info. relax, if you don't here something n 5 days then you can start being concerned. but the interview was today and they give you a timeline.

Since they kept your passport - it is still a good sign that you'll get your visa.

Just have some patience, All the very best.
