Already have an H1-B - wishing to file L1

I already have my h1 stamping done. Now my company is planning to apply L1 for me.
Is it poosible to hold both H1 and L1?
Will my H1 get cancelled if i get L1 stamped?

Which company in their right mind would do that other than with the idea of holding you captive on L1 in the US?

As both are work visa, the VO at their discretion could cancel the other one. You can tell the VO that you plan on using the H1b at a later date and they might leave it on.

You are allowed to have multiple visas like H1/B1 as they are not conflicting for the same kind of work.
