RFE for L1B Petition extension

Hi,

I am Natarajan. I am currently in the US. My I94 has expired.
My employer has applied for my L1B (Individual) extension.

I got an RFE on the application. My employer will respond to that.
I have the following questions
1. What are the chances of the Petition extension getting rejected?
2. How much time will I get to leave U.S if the Petition gets rejected?

1. No one can tell. It depends on what the RFE was about and many other things known to you and your employer.
2. You start accumulating unlawful presence from the day of rejection even if they give you a month to leave the country. This has to be mentioned during future visa applications.

Looks like you want to know more about L1 RFE.

Some of my friends are from large size indian IT company A ( i don't want to name the company name). here is the info.

From Sep 2007 onwards, CIS started reducing L1B extensions. Most of the associates from company A received RFE. Company A applied for replies. They received rejections. So company A visa cell requested their employees to apply for L1A insted of L1B.

now CIS is sending RFE to L1A also.

Company A decided not to apply for any L1A or L1B visa extensions from US. Insted they requested associates to apply for blanket petitions.

if you plan to apply for blanket petition, you have to travel back to indian and get it stamped.

thanks for the reply. i know that L1B extension applications are getting RFE's and people are on to L1A or leave US and have fresh stamp at their home country and reenter.

i jus want to know if there are any +ve response for the decision on RFE if the forum members have responded to that.
