H4 to L1

Dear Friends,

I have got H4 visa and planning to leave in Sep08. My employer here in India wants to apply L1.But it will take some time for them to proceed.

1) is it possible to change status from H4 to L1?
2) is it posible to change from US without returning to India?
3) If this is posible , then how viable is L1 to H1?
4)Which is easy H4 to H1 or L1 to H1?

pls anyone help me.
