H4 to L1B

Hi Pals,

I would be very thankful if anyone could answer my questions.

I came to US on H4 Visa, then i got L1B visa while staying in US. Its been 8 months since i have worked on L1B and i have my I-797. I still have my Valid H4 stamping in my passport. I am planning to visit India in this December and planning to get my L1B stamping done at that time. My questions are,

1)In this situation am I eligible for EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT? OR is this considered as first time visa application (as first time visa applicants are not eligible for Emergency appointment)?

2)If I am eligible for emergency appointment, then what document should i produce being in L visa category? And do we have to pay any extra fee for this special appointment?


3)When i paid the Visa fee at HDFC bank, the last digit of my passport number is missed out. How can i correct it OR if not, will it be a problem for my visa interview?


4)Do I need a transit visa if i travel via London to India? (My H4 Visa and I-94 are still valid but status is L1)

1. You have to go under regular to be safe. Emergency is also a possibility. Ask the question to VFS.
2. Nothing special.
3. Contact the HDFC location. They only can correct it.
4. If you have any valid US visa, you may not need transit visa. Your status in US does not matter.
