  • Visa status when getting fired

I am still inquiring of the status of my visa after being fired and this is far from being clear. My company is supporting me to find a new job after firing me against its will i.e. it is said because of the macroeconomic conditions. Even if my L-1B visa is normally for my only former employer A, US authorities have accepted me to get unemployment benefits and search for a job for then another employer B. I am not sure if this is legal and if I can ask for a H-1B visa in that situation or keep this L-1B visa and work for the company B. Is the company only entitled to sponsor or not its former foreign employees?

You can use all the heavy words, but you are out of status and it'll be illegal to work for anyone other than A. Who exactly are those "US authorities"? USCIS is the only authority in immigration matters.
