Questions on L2 visa

Can some body help me :

Myself and my wife are working with L1 visa for the same company in US.
I need to convert my wife's visa to L2. I have couple of questions regarding this
1. Does she need to apply for a new L2 visa or Apply for a change of status from L1 to L2
2. After getting the L2 can she continue to work for the same company or should she apply for EAD to get eligible to work
3. If she has to get a EAD to work, should she resign from the company after getting L2.
3. Can change of status and EAD be applied together

1. Does she need to apply for a new L2 visa or Apply for a change of status from L1 to L2

She can do both. She can either go out of U.S, get the L2 visa stamped and return back or she can apply for COS.


2. After getting the L2 can she continue to work for the same company or should she apply for EAD to get eligible to work

She cannot work without the EAD.


3. If she has to get a EAD to work, should she resign from the company after getting L2.

This is something to be decided between the individual and the employer. Resign/vacation without pay, whatever.


3. Can change of status and EAD be applied together

You need to be in L2 status to apply for L2 EAD. So you cannot apply for both at the same time.
