travel during H1b petition is filed while I am on L2-B

Hi ,

I am on L2 B which expires in July 2019. We have filed for a premium extension which is in process and also my H1b this april 1st. I want to know whether I can travle while my H1b petition is filed since my lawyer advised not to do so . I am not sure though since I am on L2 until July . so If i am travelling to canada and coming back before July would it be ok for my H1b

Should be fine, as both visas are dual intent.
