Today i had my interview and VO said that I qualify for the visa but he can't issue it right now bcz my petition is not in PIMS database.I read in this forum that it shouldn't take more than 2-4 days for this . Wanted to know is really this is the case as many people said that it takes at least 2 weeks . Also he gave me blue 221(g) form with a case number to track,I want to know where I have to contact on the status of my passport .

Hi,
It definitely takes at least 2 weeks. My wife appeared for a L2 dependent visa interview 2 weeks before and we still have not got the passport back. So please prepare to be patient.

Hi,
You can also query the consulate periodically and get status updates if that helps in any way. We have been querying the consulate now at least getting to know that our case is still in process.

I had mailed this situation to my attorney and this is what they told me
"The L-1B Blanket application should be adjudicated by the officer at the time of the interview, not pursuant to the USCIS' database/PIMS as the PIMS database houses the approvals. "
I forgot to mention earlier that mine was L1-B Blanket application.Comment

I am facing this blasted PIMS problem as well. I have been waiting for 3 weeks now with no update whatsoever.
At the counter, they wrote me a case number on the blue 221(g) form. I searched the Chennai consulate website and found a link that provides the status of all cases. However I couldn't find my case number in thelist. Now I have no idea what is going on.
