  • L1B from different company

Hello, I have a question on L1B Visa. Currently, I am working in US for company A with L1B and company B is ready to take me. Can company B process a new L1A / L1B for me.
Or should I join first to start the process? If, so, can company B start the process as soon as I join or should they wait for sometime? Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Shiva

If you satisfy the first & basic requirement for L1 visa, then you can switch.

The requirement is that you have worked for Company B for 1 year in last 3 years outside USA.

They need to file L1A petition with USCIS first for you & once approved you can switch job.

Also, Company B can file a new H1 for you (April 2020) & you can then switch to Company B once your H1 is approved (Oct 2020).
